April 11—Our Sources—Humanist Teachings—The Rev. Paul S. Sawyer Humanism has been an important aspect of the Unitarian, Universalist, and Unitarian Universalist traditions since very early in our history. This religious understanding, which affirms the human spirit and rational thought as holy, and that recognizes no outside or supernatural god, has been at times both our most controversial source of faith, and the one with the most followers in our movement. Beyond a simple saying “no” to supernaturalism, Humanism offers depth, challenge, and comfort to many. Join us for this exploration of Humanism as a source of our faith. April 18—Earth Day Celebration with special guest speaker, author and naturalist Mary Holland April 25—Lessons from My Father—guest speaker David Russell May 2—Annual Intergenerational May Day Celebration—The Rev. Paul S. Sawyer Come dance around the Maypole in honor of the coming of warm weather and the seasons of growth!
